The Challenge

  • Engaged by Alstom (formerly Bombardier) to verify the capability and capacity of the Aventra platform supply base for readiness to supply multiple platform products at significantly increased volumes. Review, verify data, recommend & implement improvements to support volume build (from 1 to 25 trains per week)

The Solution

  • Jigsaw provided a team of Material Planners, Supply Chain, Manufacturing and Quality experts to work alongside the client’s team and conducted an initial end-to-end diagnostic to assess the constraints of the process and provide an outlook on probability of success.
  • Areas of study included forecasting, material planning, manufacturing, purchasing and supply chain support focused on identification & mitigation of risk to supplied part Quality, Delivery & Cost.
  • Having identified the key risks & bottlenecks, Jigsaw deployed their experts to those bottleneck points (both external and internal) to first contain and then deploy root cause solutions.
  • Jigsaw designed and implemented a cloud-based system of capacity verification and early warning which is used today by the client.
